In this section of the homepage you can learn about the lists of ambulatory medical institutions (also hostital ambulatory department) and medical specialists, as well as the medical services they provide, which have been summarized here taking into account all territorial department of Health Payment Center.

• Kurzeme Territorial Unit (cities and regions of Kuldiga, Liepaja, Ventspils, Saldus, Talsi, and Tukums)
• Latgale Territorial Unit (cities and regions of Daugavpils, Rezekne, Kraslava, Ludza, and Preili)
• Zemgale Territorial Unit (cities and regions of Jelgava, Bauska, Dobele, Ogre, Aizkraukle, and Jekabpils)
• Vidzeme Territorial Unit (cities and regions of Aluksne, Balvi, Cesis, Gulbene, Limbazi, Madona, Valmiera, and Valka)

In order to receive a consultation provided by a medical specialist or also a diagnostic examination, both of which are paid by the state, thus carrying out only a patient payment, you need to supply with a referral or recommendation from your family doctor or that from other medical specialist. Without the afore-mentioned referral or recommendation a patient can approach the following specialists:

• Psychiatrist, if the patient suffers from certain mental illness;
• Narcologist, if the patient suffers from alcohol or drug addictions, as well as from psychotropic and toxic substances addiction;
• Physical pneumologist, if the patient suffers from tuberculosis;
• Dermatovenerologist, if the patient suffers from sexually transmitted diseases;
• Endocrinologist, if the patient suffers from diabetes mellitus;
• Oncologist, if the person suffers from oncologic diseases;
• Gynaecologist;
• Oftalmologist;
• Children’s surgeon;
• Paediatrist;

• Also, doctors who have not entered into agreement with the state – the patient carries out the full payment determined by the doctor.

The patient can be recommended or referred by any medical specialist who has entered into agreement with the state (with the territorial departments of Health Payment Center). Paying multiple visits to the same specialist in the course of one illness, there is no need for a recurrent referral or recommendation from the family doctor.

Children under the age of 18 can visit the dentist who, in turn, has entered into agreement with the state (with the territorial departments of Health Payment Center) without a special referral or recommendation from their family doctors.
