Health Payment Center (hereinafter referred to as – Center) is the operating direct administrative institution subordinate to Ministry of Health, the aim of which is to realize and implement state policy for availability of health care services, as well as to administrate the state budgetary funds prescribed for health care.

Help in Emergency Situations – 112!

In case your health condition suddenly goes down tremendously, you can call the ambulance throughout the whole territory of Latvia by dialling the free of charge numbers 113 and 112, calling from both mobile phones and fixed telephones.

Free of Charge Information Telephone Number - 80001234

Since the year 2002, all Latvian residents have been provided with the free of charge information telephone number 80001234, dialling it the residents are supplied with answers to the questions that interest them concerning those health care services which are guaranteed and provided by the State. On average, the free of charge information telephone attends to around 160 calls per day.

Calling this number, the residents are offered an opportunity to learn about the following:

• what medical services are state-paid;

• the procedure according to which one can receive the medical services guaranteed and provided by the state;

• the information concerning the expenses of the patient, as well as concerning the categories which release the patient from any payments;

• as well as get answers to other questions which are of your interest concerning health care.
